Setting up E-mail in Outlook 2003
This Step-By-Step guide shows you how to set up Microsoft Outlook to work with your e-mail account. This guide focuses on setting up Microsoft Outlook 2003, but these settings are similar in other versions of Microsoft Outlook. You can set up previous versions of Microsoft Outlook by using the settings in this guide.

 

 

  • In Microsoft Outlook, select Tools then E-mail Accounts.

 

  • On the E-mail Accounts wizard window, select "Add a new e-mail account" and click Next.

 

  • For your server type, select "POP3" and click Next.

 

  • On the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) window, enter your information as follows:

 

  • Your Name: Enter your first and last name.
  • E-mail Address: Enter your e-mail address.
  • User Name: Enter the part before the "@" sign. E.g.: johndoe@mcomm.co.za, then the username would be "johndoe".
  • Password: Enter the password you set up for your e-mail account.
  • Incoming mail server (POP3): Enter "mail.mcomm.co.za" for your incoming mail server.
  • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Enter "smtp.mcomm.co.za" for your outgoing mail server.
  • Click Next.
  • Click Finish.

 

Setting up Microsoft Outlook Express.

 

  • In Microsoft Outlook Express, select Tools then Accounts.

 

  • On the Internet Accounts window, click the Mail Tab.

 

  • Then click Add, and select Mail.

 

  • On the Internet Connect Wizard, in the Display name field, type your full name and click Next.

 

  • In the E-mail address field, type your email address and click Next.

 

  • On the E-mail Server Names window, from the "My incoming mail server is a" list, select POP3.
  • In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server field, enter mail.mcomm.co.za
  • In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field, type smtp.mcomm.co.za, and then click Next.

 

  • In the Account name and Password fields, type the part before the "@" sign in your email address as the username/account name and type your password in the password field, and then click Next.

 

  • Click Finish.

 

  • Click Close.

You should now be able to receive your e-mail.
